Five years ago, Esme and Chris moved to the idyllic Cotswold village of Raperton-on-the-Water. While Esme has adapted to village life, Chris is struggling. As the community fête approaches, the sinister reality of the village is revealed...

As co-set designer for this production at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe, we wanted to establish a familiar and homely setting, alluding to the sinister nature of the wider community just out of sight, all while adhering to strict parameters. We designed a versatile, seemingly innocuous kitchen unit that, when the true nature of the fête comes to light, becomes a sacrificial altar.
